Wendy’s farewell and a warm welcome to our new CEO

Published May 5, 2025
To our amazing Face It TOGETHER community,
I’m writing to share some bittersweet news.
After five years of leading our amazing organization, I’ve decided to leave Face It TOGETHER.
Leading this team has been the honor of my career. I’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together. It was a truly difficult decision, but I know I’m leaving the nonprofit and its mission in very capable hands.
Megan Colwell, former Director of Community Engagement, is taking over as interim CEO. Megan has more than 10 years of experience in the nonprofit industry, including her role as Executive Director of the March of Dimes.
If you’ve joined us at an event or stopped by our booth at a fair, you’ve likely seen Megan working hard and sharing our mission with as many people as possible. Megan is a connector; she creates meaningful relationships everywhere she goes.
I know she’ll lead Face It TOGETHER thoughtfully and passionately.
I’ve transitioned to part-time work, and my last day is May 8. I’ll still be volunteering at this year’s golf tournament, Solving Addiction on the Green, May 19. I’ll also continue to occasionally help with Tuesday night bingo at Roundhouse Brew Pub, and I’d love to see you there!
Thank you for your support, trust and compassion. Even though I’m leaving, I’ll always be part of the Face It TOGETHER family.
Sincerely,
Wendy White
Hello, everyone!
Thank you for being with us on this journey.
I can’t say enough about Wendy’s leadership and how she set the stage for the phenomenal culture we have now. She’s compassionate and authentic, and she leads by example. She will be greatly missed by me and the whole team.
In my four years at Face It TOGETHER, we’ve overcome challenges, embraced change and, most of all, made an amazing difference in the lives of people impacted by addiction.
I love getting to share our work and stories out in the community. The moments that follow are often full of vulnerability, love and gratitude. I can’t count how many times someone has shared their family’s story with me in return. Sometimes, we get to celebrate their years of sobriety together. Sometimes, I hear about a loved one who tragically lost their life to addiction. I cherish those conversations, even when they’re hard, and I’m reminded what our work means to so many people.
I’m honored to follow Wendy’s example and lead Face It TOGETHER into the next chapter alongside my wonderful team. We’re gearing up for our annual golf tournament, Solving Addiction on the Green, later this month and then we’ll take time to reflect and plan for what’s next.
If you have any questions about the transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to connect and keep building momentum as we work together to solve addiction!
Thank you,
Megan Colwell
