Jessica (she/her)

Coach, Watertown

Jessica remembers feeling like she was being thrown away in the system, like she was being forgotten. Today, she gets to walk alongside others and show them they’re not alone.

Coach type: Person with addiction

Coaching since: 2025

Lived experience:
My childhood was full of trauma and addiction. After I left the foster care system, I was so petrified of going back that I allowed anything to happen to me. I was conditioned to not stand up for myself.

I went through tragedies big and small, but drugs were always at the forefront. I ended up going to prison for two and a half years. That was enough. I didn’t want to hurt or disappoint my kids ever again.

Professional background:
I’ve worked as the women’s sober living house manager at Brothers and Sisters Behind Bars since 2021. That’s the first job I’ve had that gave me purpose, structure and accountability. It’s been one of my greatest supports in recovery.

Expertise:
Criminal justice system, sober living, foster care, childhood trauma, family addiction, domestic violence

Interests:
I love going on vacations and traveling with my family. It’s fun to see other areas with my favorite people.
