Janelle (she/her)

Coach, Sioux Falls

For years, Janelle tried dealing with the addiction in her life on her own. One of her favorite phrases since finding wellness is “don’t waste the pain,” which is why she wanted to help other family members in need.

Coach type: Loved one

Coaching since: 2021

Lived experience:
Two of my sons have struggled on and off with addiction. For more than 10 years, I tried dealing with it all on my own – I didn’t want anyone to know. I just kept thinking, “I can fix it. I’m a mom; I can fix my kids’ issues.” About five years ago, I finally realized and understood that I needed help. My own health depended on it. I sought and found the help I needed and spent extensive time on my own wellness and addiction education. One of my favorite phrases is “don’t waste the pain” and that’s exactly why I wanted to start coaching other family members.
