Coach type: Person with addiction
Coaching since: 2025
Lived experience:
I grew up in a loving home with my grandparents on the reservation. When I was 13, I was sexually assaulted while away from home. I felt so much shame, and I carried that ugliness with me for a long time. I started smoking marijuana and eventually struggled with cocaine and meth.
Later in life, I was indicted on meth charges and served a 10-year federal prison sentence. After my release, I realized that I lacked a mentor who understood what I was going through. Today, I am that mentor.
Professional background:
While in prison, I studied to become a drug treatment specialist, was certified as a Universal HVAC Technician and facilitated several classes on recovery, mental health and suicide prevention.
Expertise:
Incarceration, grief in sobriety, sexual trauma
Interests:
I live in the country, so I’m lucky to get to walk and bike with my dog in all kinds of weather. I like going to the gym and weightlifting. I also sew Native American regalia for family members.
