Why do you accept sponsorships from dispensaries and alcohol distributors?

We partner with companies that sell alcohol or other drugs thoughtfully and with our members in mind.

These companies have a heart for our work. Some of their team members have been touched by addiction. They understand their products can lead to negative consequences for some, and they want to do good in the community.

Why wouldn’t we welcome them as part of the addiction solution?

It’s important to remember that wellness is about more than sobriety.

Face It TOGETHER’s philosophy is that the substance – whether alcohol or other drugs – isn’t the core issue of addiction. True wellness comes from addressing all areas of someone’s life, including whatever led them to the drug in the first place.

For those who have a goal of complete sobriety, Face It TOGETHER embraces scenarios that empower individuals to encounter their former drug of choice and remain well. For example, alcohol is available for purchase at our events, in addition to NA options. We believe it’s not about avoiding the substance entirely, which can prove impossible, particularly with alcohol.

As a harm reduction organization, we support all addiction recovery pathways.

What does this look like day-to-day? Here are just a few of many examples of our members’ wellness goals.

  • A man in his 50s comes to us drinking a 16-pack of beer every night. In coaching, he learns new coping skills and accepts how his drinking impacts others. Slowly, over time, he cuts back. Today, he’s satisfied with drinking two or three beers casually. He feels better physically, he’s not fighting with his wife about his drinking and he’s more present with his kids.

  • Alongside her Face It TOGETHER coach who’s in recovery from meth addiction, a woman has been able to quit meth, opioids and alcohol. However, she struggles with PTSD and other health problems. By using marijuana to manage her symptoms, she has found pain relief and mental stability. Amazingly, she’s no longer feeling guilt and shame, which has allowed her to develop positive relationships.

  • A father sought peer coaching help as a loved one. He’s in long-term recovery from addiction, and now his adult son struggles. One of his greatest fears was that his son would relapse. When that eventually happened, the father was out of town. He was able to stay calm and support his son with love. He was even able to express gratitude for the relapse and knowing exactly how he can handle it moving forward. His son is now in treatment, and even though they’re apart, they still have tea at the same time every night.

It’s our honor to walk alongside individuals seeking wellness—whatever that looks like to them.
