Zenisha Gibson

Coach, Denver

Zenisha has a passion for working with loved ones navigating the disease of addiction.

Coach type: Loved one

Coaching since: 2018

Lived experience:

I grew up in an unstable and violent environment. As a result of the instability, frequent domestic violence and drug/alcohol abuse I was exposed to, I developed an immunity to dysfunction. For a period of time I had zero expectancy of a healthy or meaningful life – I expected to be mistreated. This led me down a long road of poor decisions, until I realized it was now me who was abusing me. With this realization I began the journey of healing.

Professional background:

I worked for the Department of Corrections with at-risk youth and women for several years. I went on to work in Telecom for the next 17 years (all the while volunteering and mentoring). I returned to college in 2013 to obtain my bachelor's degree in criminal justice with an emphasis in human services.

I've been blessed with the opportunity at Face It TOGETHER to use my painful experiences to help others gracefully and holistically manage supporting loved ones with addiction.

Trauma, self-care, accountability, criminal justice, human services, blended-family balance, healthy marriages, professional and personal relationship management

When possible, I enjoy traveling. I love searching for and finding a great deal! But relaxing at home with my family and friends is my sweet spot.
