Coach type: Person with addiction and loved one (volunteer)
Coaching since: 2015
I started my journey to wellness from addiction on November 7, 2011. Alcohol and opiates were my drugs of choice. I experienced legal trouble, with multiple DUIs and felony theft, and other consequences in my life. But I decided that I wanted to change.
I’m currently employed by Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota as a Peer Support Advocate, working in a primary care clinic. I help guide patients through the recovery process in the clinic and community. I also serve as a volunteer coach at Face It TOGETHER Bemidji and have both Community Health Worker and Peer support Mental Health Specialist licenses. I love working with a wide variety of people.
Opiate addiction, Native American support, twelve-step program, support group facilitation, medication-assisted treatment
I love indie and punk rock music, and vinyl records especially. I’m a passionate fan of Minnesota sports teams and my favorite sport is baseball. I enjoy bird hunting and being out in the woods with the hunting labs. TV shows I love: Arrow, Homeland, The Resident, Chicago Fire, Altered Carbon, 13 Reasons Why and Bosch. Movies: Anything John Hughes, Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Kubrick and Nolan brothers direct.
