Heather is a long-term survivor of alcohol addiction. She had seven years of experience as a peer and family support specialist at CeDAR before starting as a Face It TOGETHER peer coach in 2018. Within a few months, she was promoted to her current role as National Trainer.
She ensures all Face It TOGETHER coaches are highly trained and effective. She leads training for all addiction management roles within the organization and oversees hiring, supervision and certification of peer coaches.
As a coach, Heather specializes in the following areas: mental health issues, helping professions, criminal justice, disabilities and mothers in addiction recovery. She was 22 when she started her addiction wellness journey.
Heather graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. She’s also received certifications from the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium and Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery. She has extensive experience in client management, peer support training and community outreach.
Heather lives in Denver, CO. She has three children and is married to a fellow person in addiction recovery. She enjoys arts and crafts, digital photography and watching movies.
