Coach type: Person with addiction
Coaching since: 2018
I was 22 years old when I started my wellness journey. I was a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder at the time. I thought I was experiencing a “normal” college experience – everyone around me drank and partied like I did. I didn't want to be labeled an "alcoholic" and I didn't want to have to quit the fun side of my life, despite the damage and consequences.
I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2008 with a bachelor's in sociology. I've been working as a CeDAR Peer Support/ Recovery Coach since 2011. I'm also a certified Colorado Peer Specialist by the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium.
Mental health issues, helping professions, criminal justice, disabilities, mothers in recovery
I'm a mom of three and have been married for seven years to a fellow person in recovery from addiction. I have two dogs and a bearded dragon. I enjoy arts and crafts, including needlepointing and painting. I also enjoy going to the movies, binging on Netflix and digital photography.
