Face It TOGETHER® Model
In 2008, a group of social entrepreneurs in Sioux Falls, S.D., initiated a groundbreaking effort to overhaul the community’s approach to
addiction. That initiative spawned a new community recovery
model – the Face It TOGETHER® model – dedicated to system change and social
transformation around addiction.
The Face It TOGETHER® model activates all sectors, capitalizes
on a growing “recovery revolution” across America and leverages principles of
social entrepreneurship to help significantly more people recover from this
disease.

An Entrepreneurial Solution
The Face It TOGETHER® model is grounded in an innovative new approach to treating addiction – a “Recovery-Oriented System of Care" (ROSC) - that
helps more people enter and sustain recovery while reducing costs.
A ROSC calls for shifting the treatment of alcohol and other drug problems
from an “emergency room” model of acute care to a chronic care or disease management model. A ROSC has been shown to help more
people and to provide significantly better recovery care, while delivering
economic benefits to the public and private sector.
Our model builds on the ROSC approach in three important ways, by:
(1) Strategically engaging the private sector, primarily employers, to provide a sustainable, stable funding stream for an Affiliate.
(2) Incorporating a comprehensive, cohesive Awareness line of business to remove stigma and other barriers to draw significantly more people into the recovery system.
(3) Advancing true system-wide change around addicton by ensuring all sectors are engaged in recovery efforts.
