Our Message
Across the country
People and families struggling with this alcohol or other
drug disease deserve dignity and respect.
Our vision is a nation where those affected by substance use disorder are not
ashamed, but empowered. A nation where they are not alone, but supported by the
best care possible. A nation where children and families have the best chance
for a bright future. It’s time for change. Will you join us?

affiliated with Face It TOGETHER
You don’t have to face it alone. Whether you or your loved
one has an alcohol or drug problem, whether it’s your coworkers, employees or
the community at-large you want to reach, we can help. Let’s Face It TOGETHER.
A model for local change
Wondering what a Community of Recovery looks like, how it
works and who actually steps up to make it happen? Take a look at Sioux Falls,
South Dakota.
A model for national
change
The way people think about, talk about and treat the disease
must change for the better. Consider that thirty years ago, the term “breast
cancer” was rarely uttered. Women with the disease often experienced their
journeys alone and isolated. Families received little support. The shame, stigma and enforced silence
around the disease then are relics in today’s culture of pink ribbons, monthly
self-exams and survivorship celebrations.
Community-based models led by the national mobilization of Susan G. Komen for the Cure transformed the way the world thinks about and treats breast cancer. Face It Together has the same ambition for substance use disorder.
